Big Steps, Bright Minds, Strong Community
As we approach the end of Term 2, it’s a wonderful time to reflect on the growth, energy and community spirit that’s been alive across The Academy this term. From encouraging assessment results to enrolment milestones and cultural initiatives, it’s been a term full of learning, collaboration and connection.
Here’s a look at some recent highlights from across our school.
Strong Progress in NAPLAN
We’ve received our initial NAPLAN results (excluding writing), and we’re encouraged by the strong outcomes shown across all year levels.
In Year 7, the majority of students are performing in the strong to exceeding range for Reading, Grammar and Numeracy. Our Year 9 students have shown steady progress, with Grammar and Punctuation standing out as a particular strength.
We also saw excellent results in Years 3 and 5, with several students achieving in the exceeding range across Grammar, Spelling and Numeracy.
Given our small, personalised cohorts and the different entry points students join us at, these results reflect the dedication of both students and staff—and we look forward to reviewing the writing data when it arrives.
A Yarning Circle for Connection and Culture
We’re proud to be creating a Yarning Circle on our school grounds—an outdoor space that will support storytelling, cultural learning and community connection
This project reflects our commitment to inclusive, respectful learning environments and will offer students a meaningful space to share stories, ideas and perspectives.
If you’d like to support this initiative, we invite you to register your interest in donating via this form.
Students are getting ready to light up the dance floor at our movie-themed Disco Night. Come dressed as your favourite character and enjoy a night of music and fun! We can’t wait to see our students’ creativity shine!
Kinder Interviews and Looking Ahead to Little Leaders
We’ve had many joyful moments over the past few weeks as our Kindergarten 2026 enrolment interviews take place. These early connections between students, families and our leadership team set the tone for a positive, personalised start to school.
Each child receives a book, school bag, drink bottle and hat—reinforcing our focus on early literacy and school readiness.
Looking ahead to Term 4, we’re excited to welcome our newest learners into our Little Leaders Orientation Program, held each Monday in our school hall. It’s a supportive way for students to begin building confidence, friendships and connection before their first official day.
Kinder 2026 enrolments are nearly finalised, with a waiting list now forming.
Thank you for your continued support this term—it’s been a pleasure to see our students thrive across so many spaces, and we look forward to finishing the term on a strong and connected note.
