The Central West Leadership Academy is an independent, non-denominational, selective school located in Dubbo, NSW. The Academy currently has students from Years 1 to 10 and will add Year 11 in 2023, introducing the IB Diploma Programme in 2023. The Academy is the first school west of the mountains to offer this programme.

Position Profile
The Primary Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality, differentiated teaching and learning programs aligned with the NSW curriculum, and fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment for students in Kindergarten to Year 6. This role contributes to the strategic goals of the Academy through curriculum development, assessment, and professional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging, evidence-based lessons aligned with school values and curriculum standards
Assess, track, and report on student learning and wellbeing
Build strong relationships with students and families to support individual learning needs
Work collaboratively with other staff to develop curriculum and co-curricular opportunities
Participate actively in professional learning and school-wide initiatives
Maintain accurate records and comply with reporting, assessment, and duty-of-care responsibilities
Contribute to a safe and supportive school environment that reflects the Academy’s child-safe culture
Engage positively with the school’s mission, values, and improvement plans
Accountability
The Primary Teacher is accountable to the Principal and is expected to:
Carry out duties in accordance with Academy policies, procedures, and relevant legislation
Ensure student learning and welfare remain central to all decisions and actions
Model a professional and reflective teaching practice
Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and high expectations

Selection Criteria – Stage 1 Primary Teacher
Applicants must address the following criteria in their application:
Accreditation and Qualifications
Accreditation with NESA as a Proficient Teacher (or working towards accreditation).
Relevant tertiary qualifications in Primary Education.
Knowledge of Early Stage 1 and Stage 1 Curriculum
Strong understanding of the NSW K–2 curriculum, with the ability to deliver high-quality, age-appropriate and engaging literacy and numeracy programs.
Knowledge of early childhood developmental stages and how these impact teaching and learning.
Student-Centred Practice
Demonstrated ability to create a nurturing, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
Commitment to supporting students’ social, emotional, and academic growth using evidence-based strategies.
Differentiation and Assessment
Ability to differentiate teaching and learning to cater for diverse needs and learning styles within a Stage 1 classroom.
Experience using assessment data to inform teaching and track student progress.
Collaboration and Communication
Strong interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
Willingness to contribute to a collaborative and innovative team environment.
Commitment to Ongoing Learning
Evidence of engagement in professional learning and reflective practice.
Enthusiasm for developing professionally within a high-performing school environment.

Position 2 Title: Librarian / RFF Teacher
Start Date: Week 7, Term 3 2025 (with possibility of handover with current librarian)
Central West Leadership Academy – Dubbo, NSW
We are looking for a passionate and skilled Librarian / RFF Teacher to join the Central West Leadership Academy team, starting Week 7, Term 3. A handover period with the current librarian may be offered to support a smooth transition.
This full-time role is ideal for an educator who brings creativity to learning, values literacy and student voice, and can lead engaging lessons that enrich our release-from-face-to-face (RFF) program.
We warmly welcome applicants with experience in literacy or numeracy intervention, and/or gifted and talented education, as these are important focus areas for our school community.
About the Role
The successful candidate will:
Foster a dynamic, inclusive library environment that promotes reading and learning
Support K–10 students and staff in information literacy, research, and digital resources
Deliver high-quality RFF lessons aligned with curriculum and school priorities
Collaborate across stages to support differentiated instruction and enrichment opportunities
