Sending our thinkers to the Sydney Philosothon

With our International Baccalaureate (IB) program, we talk a lot about the IB Learner Profile. We thought it apt to revisit the IB Learner Profile trait of "Thinkers," inspired by our students' recent participation in the Sydney Philosothon at Newington College.

The Philosothon, organised by the Association of Philosophy in Schools NSW, encourages students to engage in philosophical discussions through Communities of Inquiry (COI). This format challenges students to not only think critically, but also to respect and consider diverse perspectives without dominating the discourse.

Our students' ability to engage thoughtfully and constructively in these discussions exemplifies their growth as individuals who are prepared to address complex societal issues. Such experiences underscore the strength of our IB program in developing future leaders equipped to make a positive impact in the world.
