Welcome to the Central West Leadership Academy
Now enroling Years 6-8
We are Dubbo's new 21st Century Skills school. Our focus is on 21st Century Skills and preparing our students to take a leadership role in an ever-changing technical world. Now enroling years 6-8.
Hi, my name is Mandi Randell, I’m the Principal of the Academy. I have prepared the following short video for parents of children thinking of enrolling in Years 6-8, where I answer several questions and provide an overview of what you can expect from us.
Once you’ve watched the video, if you think the Academy could be right for your child and would like to discuss further, I’d welcome the opportunity to talk with you. You can book a time in my calendar below.
Having spoken with our parents of children Years 6-8, I found they typically had the following seven common concerns before enrolling their children into the Academy:
They had started to notice what they felt were ‘gaps’ in their child’s educational results (often Maths).
They had issues and concerns around safety and bullying in particular.
They felt that their child was being swamped in a large school, whereas before, they shone at Primary with smaller school numbers and class sizes.
Their child wasn’t happy where they were schooling.
They had concerns over the calibre of teaching staff.
They felt that their child needed a fresh new approach to be able to step up and achieve their true potential
Anxiety…
We understand, as parents ourselves, how important it is for children of these Years to find their way and build their resilience, self-direction and self-motivation.
This is why we built the Academy: to help parents of the children of Dubbo and the Central West through our small class sizes, teaching excellence and personalised learning plans in a safe environment.
Yes, we’re a bit different. But in a good way. And we’re kicking goals and are leading cutting edge pedagogy from right here in Dubbo.
Are we for everyone? No, we’re not. But if you are a family who values education, think you may want your children to go to uni, and you value developing grit, resilience and strong work habits in your children, we absolutely are right for you.
If you like what you hear and feel the Academy could be right for your child, I’d welcome the opportunity to talk with you, and you can book a time in my calendar below. There are two options for you to choose, either a longer enrolment meeting or a shorter 30-minute exploratory chat, see details and my diary below.
