Education Minister Visits the Central West Leadership Academy

The Central West Leadership Academy has commenced Term 3 in its new campus at 8 George St, on the site of the former Fitzroy St TAFE. The Academy’s new home provides an abundance of flexible classroom, playground and meeting space to accommodate its continued growth, as well as a dedicated Maker Space for fostering creativity.

The NSW Education Minister, the Honourable Sarah Mitchell MP and Dugald Saunders MP visited on Tuesday July 23 and toured the new site with Principal Mandi Randell. They talked about the growth of the Academy and its recent successes in both NAPLAN and the da Vinci Decathlon.

Principal Mandi Randell said, “It is fantastic to host our local member and Education Minister to not only highlight the future-focused learning that we are doing at the Academy but to also talk through several issues facing regional education. It is promising to have our representatives and Ministers so dedicated to innovative approaches to improving educational outcomes for our region.”

Regarding the school’s new home, Principal Mandi Randell stated, “It is great to have such an excellent facility to house our growth for the medium term while we work toward creating our own, purpose-built campus.”
