The Big Ideas Challenge is a Western NSW Philosothon Competition.
Philosothons are philosophy competitions that foster higher order thinking skills and use the ‘Community of Inquiry’ model. The Federation of Australasian Philosophy in Schools Association has run Philosothons for several years. More details can be found at www.philosothon.org
Student challenges will include: reasoning, identifying perspectives, seeking other options, forming criteria, asking questions, and building up ideas. Students will examine art, think in collaborative groups and participate in role play.
There is a $15 registration charge for each team member.
This charge is for certificates, administration costs and dinner on Thursday evening.
Students are to bring their own recess, lunch and water bottles.
